Standard Terms of Business

  1. Defective Goods & Repair/Replacement Policy
    If any vehicle or part supplied by Compass Automotive is found to be defective in workmanship or materials, as determined by both the manufacturer and the Company, we will arrange for its repair or replacement. However, any costs not recoverable from the manufacturer will be borne by the customer, payable in advance if requested. Additionally, if the customer fails to meet any conditions set by the manufacturer, Compass Automotive will not be obligated to repair or replace the item.

  2. Limitation of Warranty
    Unless explicitly stated, we do not guarantee that any vehicle or part supplied, whether new or used, is fit for any specific purpose or of any particular quality. Our sales are not subject to implied warranties, and we will not be liable for any damages arising from defects in the vehicle, even if due to negligence on the part of the Company or the manufacturer.

  3. Service & Repair Liabilities
    Compass Automotive does not offer any warranty on services rendered, except where explicitly mentioned. We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or accidents resulting from defective materials, faulty workmanship, or delays — even if these issues arise due to our or our suppliers’ negligence.

  4. Pricing & Delivery Conditions
    All prices quoted are subject to change without notice. The final price will be determined at the time of delivery. Claims for damage or shortages of goods must be made in writing within 3 days of receipt and confirmed at the time of delivery.

  5. Orders & Returns
    Compass Automotive will not be liable for delays or non-delivery of goods. We do not accept returns unless prior written consent has been obtained. Returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee, and goods must be returned within five business days.

  6. Payment Terms – Parts and Service
    A 10% credit charge may apply unless payment is made in full in line with the Company’s credit terms outlined on the invoice. All parts, services, repairs, and haulage are payable within 30 days from the date of the invoice unless stated otherwise. For insurance claims, an authorization number from the insurer is required, and payments should be made within standard terms.

  7. Payment Terms – Wholegoods
    Full payment for machinery and hire must be received before delivery, unless otherwise specified on the invoice. We accept all major credit cards, except American Express. Finance arrangements for wholegoods purchases require prior underwriting and signed documentation before delivery. If a part-exchange is involved, any outstanding finance on the traded machinery must be settled by the seller, not Compass Automotive.

  8. Warranty & Liabilities for Wholegoods
    Used wholegoods are sold without warranty unless explicitly stated. Compass Automotive is not liable for any maintenance, repair, or mechanical failure once a trade-in is returned in the condition it was assessed.

  9. Risk & Ownership
    All goods entrusted to Compass Automotive for repair or replacement are held at the owner’s risk. The Company is not liable for any loss or damage. Additionally, ownership of all wholegoods machinery transfers to the customer only upon receipt of cleared funds.

  10. General Terms
    These terms apply to every contract for the sale or repair of goods by Compass Automotive unless otherwise agreed in writing. Compass Automotive is not responsible for any traffic violations committed by the buyer, potential buyer, or hirer. Any goods part-exchanged will remain covered by the Company’s insurance until collection.
